Possible bug or bad design?

Im running into an annoying issue where I seem to randomly lose blue coins. Its possible there is an enemy attack that may steal these, but if so it is not made clear to the user (something to signify the loss). If it is an actual bug, it seems difficult to reproduce. Though, I can say while I am not exploring, the coins do not seem to disappear. Id be interested in getting some developer help with this, but App Support brings your Facebook wall, which is obviously less than helpful. Anyone else run into this anomaly?
